Waverly in 3D... 4D?

We had this ultrasound done back on December 15; it was part of our Christmas present from Chandler's parents.  It's amazing what technology is capable of doing these days and so weird to actually see our little baby before she even gets here.  It was a WONDERFUL gift!

She was rubbing her eyes and was done performing :)
We have short video clips of her moving which was pretty awesome to watch.  The technician said that she is pretty photogenic; she was able to get 47 total pictures and videos which is more than what they get usually.  We saw her on the screen, but I also felt her, so it was neat to match what I feel to what she is doing.  If these ultrasound pictures are accurate, then we've got a pretty cute baby!

Finito!

So, we FINALLY completed the nursery and are loving it! Pictures below...

I used painter's tape to create stencils of the birch trees on this wall.  It took me about 7 hours to complete the stencils.  The next day, Chandler came through and painted the stencils white.

Once the trees dried, I used bird stencils that I also made to put birds in the trees.  Chandler came behind and painted the birds hot pink to match Waverly's crib bedding.

This is just a close up of two of the birds and two of the birch trees.

The finished product!  I love how this wall mural turned out.  It was A LOT of work, but completely worth it!

Now it's time to get my bag packed...

Flying Time

34 weeks...  It's hard to believe that in just 3 weeks, our little girl is very capable of making her grand entrance.  Chandler and I are excited beyond belief.

Before even trying to get pregnant, we prayed for our little one every night.  Our first prayer was that He would choose to bless us with a pregnancy and that it would happen in His timing.  On Tuesday, June 30, 2009, that little test read "pregnant".  There's no exciting story behind how I told Chandler; I just showed him the test.  It was hard to think of something clever when I was overwhelmed with so many other thoughts.  I didn't cry and I didn't let him cry, but that night we laid in bed and talked and cried and prayed for our little baby and for ourselves as we knew we had a long and exciting road ahead of us.

I began my student teaching semester in August of 2009, the last semester of my undergraduate career, and Chandler was going into his second month as a manager back at Best Buy.  Along with the pregnancy, we were experiencing a lot of change in our life, but we were (and are still) very content.

The semester flew by, only in hindsight, of course, and despite battling swine flu, sinus infections, and countless colds, Waverly is big and healthy.  At our last appointment we had an ultrasound that told us she is about 5.5 lbs; at this rate, I'm having a 9 lb baby.  Oh my.  But for now, we play "the waiting game" and slowly but surely everything Waverly is invading our little home.

The room is painted light blue all over (Chandler won that battle).  We're going to be adding a "mural" of sorts to add some girly touches (that's MY battle).

We finally moved the furniture in, but are still waiting on one more piece.  It's a cherry finish even though it looks much, much darker.
