Well, I was right... Mommas always know! I am 39 weeks and there is no dilation or major progression; although, we did have a "scare" on Tuesday. I thought maybe my water had broken and was trickling, so we headed to the hospital to get the little litmus test. Little did I know, it's a HUGE ordeal for that one little test! I was admitted and put in a room. They made me put on a gown and hooked me up to the machines as if I was actually going into labor. An hour and a half later, we were discharged with no water breakage. There is one positive outcome from that visit: we now know where to go for labor and delivery and I know exactly what to expect once I get there.
I wasn't really upset that nothing had happened, it just increased my impatience; so much so, that I spent much of the night last night preparing my "what for" speech for the doctor today. I had prepared a list of complaints and developed a viable argument for why we should induce as soon as possible once I pass my due date. Previously, my doctor had expressed her preference for "spontaneous labor" and assured me that she wouldn't let me go over two weeks past my date. Well, two weeks is two weeks too long and I was going to make that extremely clear.
I must've been sending some strong vibes her way because during my appointment today, she told us that she had already scheduled us for induction on Monday, March 8, only 4 days after my due date, in case Waverly continued this stubborn streak. My doctor is a very lucky lady this day and Chandler and I are VERY relieved. It's a great feeling to have a set date and know for sure that we will have our little girl by March 9; if she comes before then, well, you won't hear us complain!

Houdini's Apprentice
Weimaraner's are known to have severe separation anxiety and Fenway has those tendencies; however, instead of destroying things, she makes a great escape...

Countdown: 2 1/2 weeks
Oh my, the time is getting very close for Waverly to be here! We had our 37 weeks appointment a few days ago; I am 1 cm dilated, but she hasn't 'dropped' yet. He said that we are right on track for March 4, so I asked what I can do to speed the process... walk. And because it's still winter-like, Chandler and I can be legitimate "mall walkers" without the embarrassment (...Caroline...); in fact, Chandler has developed a very special "walk" for me that involves some pelvic rocking, shall we say. Now that is embarrassing. Instead, I just walk at every opportunity. I even walk in place when I have no where else to go.
Feeling the pressure of not being prepared, Chandler and I spent, literally, a whole day doing some last minute shopping, picking up items that would be immediately necessary and some really cute clothes. We got so many cute things, I have packed three outfits for Waverly's hospital bag; yes, three. And yes, we're vain people, but she will look "fly" as Chandler so likes to say.
I've also washed most of her newborn outfits and sanitized bottles and pacifiers. My goal is to have all of Waverly's things prepared by the end of next week, then spend my last week just cleaning the house. So we'll see how that goes because if Waverly wants to come a week early, I'd probably be okay with that :)

Showers!
Welp, we've had a couple of showers and got some great stuff, but man, oh man, do we need so much more! Thank goodness for that tax return, huh? Haha.
Our first shower was Sunday, January 31 and was hosted by my wonderful sister-in-law. Here are some pictures...

The lovely table set-up. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the beautiful tulips alive... The cake was so yummy though!

The last shower we had was this past Saturday, February 6 and was hosted by my two closest friends, Morgan and Tracy.

The spontaneously, giggling bunny. Fenway HATES it.
A few of the guests...
Love it! Thanks Kristy!

The fabulous table set-up. LOVE the diaper cake and especially the gaudy feathers :))
My mom's parents were in from Tennessee and my Gram was able to come to the shower!
My stepmom, Karlette, and my YOUNGER sister, Julia. People say we look alike; I'm mad that she's so much taller than me...
Some of the lovely shower attendants. Lots of friends from church and family!
Yay! Presents for Waverly!
